Aurora programs are designed to help three groups of people: people with learning disabilities and dyslexia who need help with their writing and spelling, people who are very slow typists and want to be able to type faster, and people who are speech impaired and want to be able to carry on a conversation.
Aurora 3.0 for Windows is a software suite which contains Prediction 3.0, Echo 3.0 and Talk 3.0. However Prediction 3.0, Echo 3.0 and Talk 3.0 can also be purchased separately.

Prediction 3.0 Overview

Aurora Prediction improves your spelling with its huge vocabulary of correctly spelled words. As you type, Aurora constantly tries to guess what you are typing. If you typed "spel" you could type the number "5" and it would complete the word "spelling" for you. If you are a fast typist, you could use the visual cueing to finish the word yourself, assured you are spelling it right. Grammatical rules improve the prediction system's suggestions, and aid you in sentence construction.

The new Echo Toolbar gives you quick access to reading functions like reading any marked section in a word processor or reading buttons, menu items and icons off of the screen.

Echo Benefits

With Echo you can have whatever you type read back to you as you type, including letters, words, sentences, paragraphs and more. It can even read a section of a word processor document back to you or items off of the screen. This is great if while you are doing a speaking presentation you need some material that hasn't been prepared ahead of time. When answering questions, Echo can read your answers as you type as an alternative to using Aurora Talk 3.0

Talk 3.0 Overview

For conversational speech output, Aurora Talk allows you to type a phrase and have it spoken without interrupting your work in other applications. And it saves what you have written from day to day so that you never have to retype phrases.
Aurora Talk supports multiple conversations (sets of phrases.) This helps you easily organize your phrases into groups so that you can have one group for work, one for at home, one for school and so on. Switching from conversation to conversation takes just a single keystroke. And if you have lots of phrases, there's a new search function.

Talk Benefits

• Speak Instantly with Function Key Phrases: For even faster speech output, you can assign phrases to function keys within the Talk program. Or you can preprogram speech macros in Aurora Prediction. Just type in your macro code, and out comes the speech. If you have trouble remembering your keys, you can have a handy onscreen summary as in the image above.
• Aurora Talk Makes Public Speaking Easy: If you write your presentation ahead of time, copy it to the clipboard, create a new conversation in Aurora Talk, then paste your presentation into Talk, your presentation will be put into Talk one sentence per line so you can easily control the rate of your presentation. If you get questions during your presentation you can answer simple questions with function key phrases, or go to a separate conversation to compose a more comprehensive response. Once the audience is satisfied, you are back into your presentation with a single keystroke.
