Browsealoud Text-to-Speech Software for Mac Users

Published: Jun 27, 2007

Browsealoud is the updated Mac version of the popular text-to-speech software from Texthelp Systems Ltd. This assistive technology solution reads website content aloud and is very helpful for people with literacy difficulties, dyslexia and mild visual disabilities. It can also be helpful for people learning English as a second language.

Throughout the UK and Ireland, Browsealoud has become the definitive choice for reading aloud website content.

Browsealoud is available for Mac users via a simple download. When using the program, the website content is highlighted as it is being read, which helps to aid comprehension. Users can customize individual settings like the pitch, speed and volume of the chosen voice.

Browsealoud caters to the needs of at least 20% of the population who cannot access website content. Estimates are that while 10% of people in UK have dyslexia to some degree, at least 6% are severely dyslexic.
