Cambium Learning, Inc. to Form New Technology Group
Published: Jun 22, 2007Cambium Learning, Inc. has announced the acquisition of IntelliTools, Inc., an industry-leading technology provider for pre-K to eighth-grade students requiring differentiated instruction and alternative means of accessing the curriculum. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Through this acquisition, Cambium Learning also announced the formation of Cambium Learning Technologies that will include IntelliTools, Inc., Kurzweil Educational Systems, Inc. and Acceleration Station. The new group will focus on providing students struggling to achieve with effective learning solutions that are not currently available through traditional media.
Nader Darehshori, CEO and chairman of Cambium Learning said, “We share a belief that with appropriate assistance all children can learn, and we are dedicated to developing, providing and supporting products and services that can truly make a difference in the education of students who struggle the most.”
Arjan Khalsa has agreed to join Cambium Learning’s efforts in this regard as senior vice president, Cambium Learning Technologies. Arjan Khalsa said, “While we have made good strides in serving a broader range of students in recent years, as part of Cambium Learning we will be able to expand our efforts and more rapidly fulfill our mission of serving underperforming students.” Alex Saltonstall will be leading Cambium Learning Technologies as general manager.
