CheckEngine USA Specializes In Accessibility Standards

Published: Jun 23, 2007

CheckEngine USA is a new full-service Web design and consulting company offering a variety of Web development, hosting and enterprise consulting solutions. They specialize in Web development-usability, standards and accessibility.

CheckEngine USA was formed to help make websites easier to use; to accelerate adoption of worldwide coding standards and guidelines and to enhance online content accessibility for the general public.

Their focus is to design and fine-tune websites so that they are not only visually appealing, but also user-friendly, standards-compliant and accessible to anyone, no matter what browser or computer they use, or type of disability they may have.

They are aiming to make the online experience easier for users worldwide by improving the overall quality of website code and advocating universal accessibility.

CheckEngine USA understands the lack of website accessibility. In the US, Web accessibility is a legal requirement for federal or federally-funded websites under Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. In fact, US retail giant Target was recently sued by the National Federation of the Blind because its website content was not accessible to blind users.

Also, a majority of existing websites are not fully accessible, including those where users may especially benefit, such as sites for medical companies, retirement services and public organizations.

To this end, CheckEngine codes websites for accessibility and in turn makes it easier for persons with disabilities, inexperienced Web surfers and users with limited technology (such as an older browser, a slow Internet connection or those without computer audio).
