Nuance Communications, Inc. received a CNET Editors’ Choice award for the third consecutive year, for its Dragon NaturallySpeaking program. The CNET Editors’ Choice award recognizes top products that represent the best available choice for quality, performance, design and service and its logo is a mark of excellence denoting the best possible investment for technology buyers.

The latest release of the speech recognition solution, Dragon NaturallySpeaking 8 enables the automatic conversion of speech into text and allows the voice-control of MS Windows and other software applications by speaking. Dragon NaturallySpeaking is integrated with MS Office and allows users to create new documents and emails, navigate programs and surf the Web - all by voice.

The CNET editors, in their latest review wrote that Dragon NaturallySpeaking Professional 8 lets a user take care of most computing needs with voice commands instead of the keyboard and the mouse.

CNet said that, “The good point of Dragon NaturallySpeaking Professional 8 is that it features intuitive voice commands, impressive command-driven typing and mousing capabilities, handy transcription tools, accurate voice recognition, and support for PDAs. The bad things of this software: Dragon has large memory requirements, isn’t Mac compatible, and requires a steep voice-command learning curve; in addition, tech support is costly.”
