Magnifying Software for Mobile Telephones

Published: Jun 20, 2007

After Mobile Speak and Mobile Accessibility, Spanish company Code Factory has launched Mobile Magnifier for Symbian supported mobile phones; a partial enlargement can be installed on mobile phones.

Mobile Magnifier is screen magnification software for mobile phones for the vision impaired. It enlarges and enhances all items of the mobile phone display, automatically detecting and magnifying the area of interest as the user navigates through the phone’s user interface.

Telephones suitable for the Mobile Magnifier are: Nokia 3620, 3650, 3660, 6600, 7610, 7650, N Gage, N Gage QD and the Siemens SX1. The software combines well with Mobile Speak, which is Code Factory’s mobile screen reader software. Mobile Magnifier can also be installed as a plug-in of the application Mobile Speak, thus providing speech output and screen magnification at the same time.

The system was tested by the Spanish Organización Nacional de Ciegos de España (ONCE) and can be downloaded from the Mobile Magnifiers website. This mobile screen enlarger software also supports the following languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Dutch, Italian, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Finnish, Turkish, Polish, Arabic, Chinese, Portuguese and Czech.
