Optelec Launches New Mountbatten Learning System

Published: Jun 24, 2007

Optelec US Inc and Quantum Technology announced the launch of their newly designed Mountbatten Learning System. The Mountbatten Learning System (MBLS) continues a tradition of Braille learning tools that are appropriate for the needs of children in the twenty first century and will greatly assist with the development of technology skills within the Braille literacy experience.

Unlike the earlier versions, the Mountbatten Learning System includes some unique Braille music capabilities that enable students to create, playback, record and emboss musical compositions using Braille notation. New features such as a diary, settings for time and day, alarm, appointment setting and stopwatch will assist students in developing their organizational skills. The new Nemeth mode will enable teachers to teach Braille math easier.

The MBLS adds an exciting dimension to the Braille learning process for children with visual disability as well as for sighted teachers and parents. MBLS is available at $4,495 USD.
