Speech-Enabled Authentication System from Vasco

Published: Jun 21, 2007

VASCO Data Security, Inc. announced the launch of Digipass 300 Comfort Voice, a device that makes secure Internet banking possible for the blind and the visually impaired.

Digipass 300 Comfort Voice, which adds speech to VASCO’s strong authentication range, is an improved version of Digipass 300 Comfort.

The calculated codes will be read to the user through a built-in speaker or via a headset. The number five button of Digipass 300 Comfort Voice will have orientation marks, allowing the user to select the right function and to type his/her PIN-code into the Digipass. Every key pressed by the user will be followed by audible feedback.

Languages supported by Digipass 300 Comfort Voice are customizable, allowing end-users of the bank a Digipass that speaks their native tongue. A visually impaired person will now be able to have the same high level Digipass security as other e-bank account holders.

According to Jan Valcke, VASCO’s president, and COO, “With Digipass 300 Comfort Voice, VASCO proves its claim of being a trendsetter in its sector.  Blind and visually impaired people very often manage their own financials; with Digipass 300 Comfort Voice, they can securely perform transactions and check their balances.”
