TextAloud Makes Text-to-Speech for Firefox Users

Published: Jun 20, 2007

Text-to-Speech software producer NextUp.com has released version 2.068 of their TextAloud software. This upgrade includes a new Firefox Browser Plugin which adds a TextAloud toolbar to the popular Web browser, allowing users to listen to Web pages read aloud on their computer.

Users can also convert text from Web news and Web-based emails to audio files for portable listening. This addition complements the Outlook and Internet Explorer toolbars also available with TextAloud to make audio browsing of the Internet even easier.

“The Firefox browser has quickly become a popular alternative to Internet Explorer,” noted Ken White, CEO of NextUp.com. “A flurry of requests from TextAloud users led us to develop this Firefox toolbar to further enhance our customers’ browsing experience through spoken audio”.
