Executives from Triumph Technology, LLC. and Handy Tech Elektronik GmbH met in Minneapolis this week to finalize the terms of a distribution agreement that will give one of Europe’s most popular lines of refreshable braille products a prominent place in the North American assistive technology market.
Triumph Technology has already established itself as a successful representative of some of the world’s most recognized products for the blind and visually impaired - including those manufactured by AI Squared, Clarity, Code Factory, GW Micro, and Sighted Electronics. Handy Tech’s array of high quality refreshable Braille devices further enhances Triumph Technology’s existing range of blindness and low vision solutions.
“Handy Tech Elektronik’s goal is to develop innovative products that allow blind and visually impaired consumers to access the latest off-the-shelf technologies - including PDA’s and cell phones.” Explained company president, Sigi Kipke. “Our line of Braille devices is the perfect complement to the impressive group of solutions already offered by Triumph Technology.”
Handy Tech Elektronik is best known for its high quality braille display/notetaking hybrids - including Braillino, Braille Star, Braille Wave, and Easy Braille. These products feature the ergonomically designed keys and concavely shaped braille cells that are Handy Tech’s signature, and are supported by the world’s leading portable and pc-based screen reading applications. Handy Tech’s latest innovation, the Modular Evolution, implements the company’s proprietary Active Tactile Control (ATC) technology. This new approach to refreshable Braille provides even more functionality and efficiency to proficient Braille readers, and is the basis for a host of interactive tools that will facilitate a more streamlined learning process for new braille readers.
“Triumph Technology is thrilled to be able to offer our customers Handy Tech’s diverse range of refreshable braille products.” Said Earle Harrison - Triumph Technology founder and president. “We are especially excited that we can now integrate Bluetooth-enabled braille devices into our new and existing Mobile-Pack bundles, thereby offering our customers portable Braille access that is truly revolutionary.”
