Voice Commander Service for Crestron Home Automation Systems

Published: Jun 24, 2007

HumaneInterface has released Voice Commander 2.0, a new speech recognition service for Crestron home automation systems. Voice Commander, with an advanced speech recognition system, allows telephone access to Crestron systems from anywhere. This voice application service allows users of home automation systems to command and control their homes by voice, via a telephone or even mobile phone.

Voice Commander uses the advanced technology utilized by the airlines, banks and call centers around the world to automate their business operations. Making use of automatic speech recognition (ASR), text to speech (TTS) and natural language understanding (NLU), this technology provides a highly sophisticated environment to interact with home automation systems.

A Voice Commander user can dial a privately held, dedicated telephone number conveniently stored in the user’s phone. Voice Commander will answer the phone and provide the available selections such as scenes, lighting, security and temperature control. The user can respond to simple prompts. At this point, he can hang up the phone or continue to control the home automation system.
